Long Printed, Pleated Skirt

Bought this fabric a few months back and had no idea what I wanted to make with it.
However, I had been craving a long skirt and as summer started to roll around I got inspired to make one out of this cute, printed rayon.
Made up the design as I went and used my dress form to inspire me on the pleating.

Below is a close up of the pinning of the front pleats.

Here is a close up of the pinning of the back pleats.

After securing the pleats I decided to make the waist band out of a solid contrasting fabric (navy in this case). I also cut the hem of the skirt so it is shorter on the front and hangs longer in the back.
Didn’t want to have the problem of tripping over my skirt while running amuck in the city!
